If you have the money, buy it. Our economy needs it, and at the current rate, we may never see the 2010s!
Plus, there is so much potential now with the X that you really can't go wrong. Why wait for a few more HP when people have already doubled the stock output, essentially with bolt-ons? I love my X.

Go ahead and buy it. You can get an awesome deal plus 0% financing. Theyre are still plenty left so you have the upper-hand.
How many major improvements are ya'll really expecting from the 08 to the 10? They will prolly have the new console/cupholder area. Maybe have a SLIGHT bump in power (like 5hp) but most likely the same 4B11. Once you tune an 08 it'll be faster anyway. Maybe the Ralliart tailights. Maybe some seats that the staples won't fall out.
All and all, I'd rather have an 08 and spend the money I would save (0% and money off MSRP), that i wouldn't get unless I waited two years to buy a 10, and get it tuned, put some stronger staples and maybe a little dab of some kind of glue to help the seats, buy the cupholder piece, and the new tail lights. That way I could have fun and be driving a new evo NOW instead of two years from now.

I'm not sure which way I would go. I think you're off to a great start though. All good decisions start with asking a large group of complete strangers for advice when they have no idea what your life and financial situations are like. Nothing says "smart decision" like one derived from an informal brainstorm from questionable sources with an unknown IQ level.

thanks guys for all your opinions
what if the price on the 2008 models fall more when the 2010 evos arrive?
does anyone here knows how much the evo8 prices fell when the evo9s came out?
i just cant remeber nor find a thread about it
maybe this helps us make a better choice?

hrmm tricky choice:
2008 model is out NOW, and you should be able to get a bargain.
2010 model WONT be released UNTIL most of the 2008 stock is sold, thus you don't have a firm ETA...
Also will there really be anything different, probably not... maybe:
1) more power - easy fixed with a tune on the 2008
2) rear lights - easy fixed with the ralliart rears
3) another colour - i like black anyways
4) ... ?
If you can get 10%+ off the RRP for an 08 model I say go for it... You WILL have to pay retail for the 2010.
Cheers

There are many unknowns right now, and it's too early to tell which is the better move. I will say this though: new cars don't always go for retail and saying that if he waits for the 2010 model that he will definitely pay sticker is flat out wrong. While there won't be any crazy low prices like there are on the 08 models right now, you will still be able to get a deal. Case in point: I preordered my X, and bought it the day it arrived on east coast shores (literally got the phone call from the dealership and was there before the car was even unloaded off the truck), I pad invoice for mine, which was 2k BELOW sticker. Many around the country were able to do the same. So, to the OP: coming from a current 08 X owner... wait it out and see what's new on the 2010 models. If you don't like what you see, you may well still be able to find a 2008 somewhere at a killer price. Good luck.

I am going to wait to at least see what if any changes the 2010 model has changed. Will the deals be as good on the 2010 now as the 08 now, not likely? But, when the 10 come out the 08 I would think would be at least price wise the same if not lower then now. 0% is amazing if you finance which might not last.
