^ You gotta travel to North Carolina to get that deal, assuming the dealer where he got it from still has any left. Based on my calculations, if he purchased his Evo @ $31K flat out-the-door (without any trade), it would be around $28,650 before TTL (NC Tax = 6.75%, according to edmunds). A GSR w/ the same package (SSS+Aero) at Serramonte is about $29,600 before TTL. Say you insist in buying it from NC, shipping will cost you approx $1K. In the end, you will be spending the same amount of money LOL. Then the question is: What's the point buying it from another state 3 timezones away when the total cost is the same?

only car sale tax is 3 percent here and you only get taxed on the difference from your trade in vs agree price. example being if a car is 30k and your trade value is 15k but you owe 10k on payoff. then you only get taxed for 25k food and other goods are 6.75%

^ Well, I wish I live in your state when I buy cars. It terribly sucks in California, and the city where I live, tax is like 9%... and we don't have the trade-in difference thing going like you explained. Have to pay the full tax of the agreed price on the car. For a $30K car, we would normally pay close to $33K after TTL fees.
If 3% is your sales tax, then the price (before TTL) of your GSR (including options) is somewhere around $29.5K? (unless you did a trade-in)
LOL, I'm sorry... I like messing with numbers.

Well, you still came out way ahead... good job haggling, that's a little over $8K discount and zero APR if I if I got my math right. That's as low as the best deal you can find in CA... congrats again and enjoy the car!
