the reason why i would want one is because of the SSS package - i want my amps and subs to work as well when i get my nav unit, and i don't want to swap the entire system out.

Just get a Garmin or a TomTom and save lots of money. You can even move the Garmin/TomTom from car to car.

If funds are not a problem go for it... But I say try to get the dash kit cheap somewhere and pay 800 bux which will get you a real nice navi.... There you go all for 1,200.

Maps that come on the factory nav unit are based on map data from 2005. Mitsu has not released an updated map set yet. It is scheduled for sometime this summer. Cost for updated maps will be in the $200 - $300 ballpark and you will not be able to get the update for free.

All the above info came from a thread in the audio sub forum.

For 2000 dollars you can
-Buy a aftermarket doubledin nav
-keep the factory amps
-Have a bunch of money left over to mod your car

That's some serious mod money... to have something to tell you how to get somewhere?

Navigation systems are only useful when going somewhere far away. A simple $400 aftermarket one will suffice, unless you like it to be integrated into your car.

Dude, here are 4 links to these myths, one went for as low as $709.00

Second one $1,149 also did not sell.

Third, more expensive at $1,295 (seller ID is private)

Fourth, and BEST deal going, sold for $709.00 (24 bids)

The deals are out there man, you just have to be patient and do the work/research. I hope this helps. Good luck.
Notice how I said 'new' not refurbished or used in my post? Sometimes the refurbished ones are a good deal if the problem was a button or something but sometimes they are hacked up by a local electronics repair shop and crap out. It's a gamble I won't take again after being burned previously.

I say buy an aftermarket headunit and save that extra money for mods. I have the factory navi and its not the best thing out there. Its nice and goes with the whole interior of the car but just doesn't work as good as I thought it would. (Navi not the music server)

I think its really worth it.....for the amount of stuff it can do, its OEM and it has a music server is awesome. You will pay more for aftermarket brands that do less and some of these brands are crap anyway. The Navi is Rockford Fosgate too

Aftermarket ones may have more features and cheaper but the OEM looks like it belongs there and no worries about someone busting your window to grab it.

IF you can get a new or a nice refurb for less then a grand I say go for it. OEM, IMO fits better, looks better and lasts longer then most anything aftermarket.

It's definitely NOT worth 2200. Aftermarket has ones just as nice.

In my opinion, the actual navigation part of it really sucks. Entering addresses and POIs is such a pain. It's like they did zero usability testing.
