American muscle praise
I was searching for information about the 2010-11 evo x and I stumbled upon this camaro forum.

I think it means a lot when our arch nemesis in the car world (american muscle) can agree to respect a machine as amazing as the Evo X.
congrats on having bad a$$ rides everyone!

I knew I recognized that license plate...agreed, that's pretty awesome that they admit the Evo's handle ridiculously well. I was actually thinking about test driving a camaro for fun at some point...but I would never trade my evo in for it...gross

yeh i've gotten some compliments from muscle car drivers but then i've also gotten some criticism. Best one so far was me visiting my buddy in GA. He has a 69 chevelle ss (its his project that hasn't been started...my evo can trounce the car in every aspect of performance). His buddy came over and both our car's were in the driveway he was like nice car. I bit and said thanks and he was like i'm talking about the chevelle. Something about rural southern areas and not liking cars with less than 8 cylinders. All good though, I respect any car that has crazy performance, be that an evo, a zr1, or somebody's focus stripped down turbocharged and running 11 second 1/4 mile times.

Yea that's why I've been on the X forums. I'm at the crossroads of modding my IX more or trying to move onto the X...
Yea, I always get the american cars wanting to race..The crappy civics typically know what they are getting into...

I love the dirty looks from people who just think your car is loud and over the top styling wise.
Seriously though you never know almost every car today has potential its just the amount of time and money it takes to get it to a certain point. When I was completely stock I had a prelude that was modified and he kept up pretty decently through 45ish after getting off of an onramp. He gave a thumbs up and went on his way. I tend to give thumbs up to sexy rides domestic, eruo, or otherwise.
The best praise i've gotten was a guy at a cookout (local fast food drive-in with beast *** carnival food). He drove a 08 lancer and was leaning out the window to see my evo. when i got up to the window he was saying how my car was so nice and he was jealous etc etc. Always nice to have people going gaga over your ride.

I'm somewhat active on mustang forums and the experienced members usually respect the evo/sti. On the other hand, a lot of mustang owners with a cai, mufflers and maybe a tune think their cars are lightening quick and constantly talk about how many imports they walked all over. They like to clump the integras, civics, 350z, and evo in the same category, which is completely ridiculous and sort of brings to light the embarrassingly low IQ that the muscle crowd seems to not only posses but cherish.
Although... i still can't get over how many untuned evos I see with neons, intake, and vented bov that think their car is SUPER HELLA BALLER tight. I guess every community will have their bad apples.
I believe any real car guy/girl will know of the evo and not dismiss it as a wimpy rice burner.
I like to equate the evo as the agile James Bond in jorts and the pretty muscle car as the HGH infused Stallone in a tux.

New camaro looks pretty impressive, huge change, but i would work on wheels a little and suspension wise, I like it. Used to own a firebird and a cobra. I must agree people with muscle cars stock or small bolt-ons think they are FAST! but thats not the point. I care less.
I respect every car on the road (I cant stand riced out cars, but again its your car that you drive so i dont care) or if the owner is not cocky !

A sweet ride is a sweet ride. Speed, looks, handling, who cares, most cars excel at something and I pretty much love 'em all!
On the American Muscle car front, the new Camaro, Challenger and Mustang GT 500 are beasts in their own rights. Imports have their up side as well. Take the Honda Civic Si, sure it's slower than an Evo or even an RA for that matter, but it's a naturally aspirated engine and an impressive car for what it is.
I also like the Subaru WRX's and STi's!
For me, the RA was the way to go, down the road, I will likely buy an Evo X. I also love Nissan's, my other car being a 240SX, and my favorite car being the GT-R.
Then there is the question of how you judge "performance". 0-60? 1/4 mile? WHP? Slalom? Oval? Top speed? Bottom end? Top end? Daily driver?
To each their own, no need to hate, just remember the world would be a boring place if everyone drove Mitsubishi's or Subaru's or even Mustangs (though sometimes it feels like everyone and their brother owns or owned a Mustang at some point).
