to soon for oil change?

Besides, knowing mitsubishi, they'll void your warranty for changing the oil too soon.

I'm just repeating a stereotype.
Haven't needed any service yet.. *knock on wood*
I have an extended warranty through a 3rd party and I'm actually wondering if they'll be more willing to do warranty work after the initial warranty's over since it won't be on their dime anymore.

WRONG!!!
the oil the evo comes with from the factory is not a normal mobil 1 10w30
its made for the break-in of the car.
You shouldnt do your very first change for 3k miles, unless you are building the motor.
People think they should change their oil at like 1k and tranny fluids and **** right away, but that is incorrect.
Unless of course, you are eating oil...
change it at like 3000-3500 for the first oil change if everything is going smoothly

that only means, you can start ragging on the car after 600 miles. Has nothing to do with the engines actual break-in period.
It takes much more than 600 miles to fully break the motor in.
The first 600 are just the recommended miles to be "easy" on the car.
