First my story: I came home last night let the Evo cool down (I leave my car in my parking stall outside) went inside the house went to bed. The next morning I get inside my Evo warm her up and start driving, first thing I notice.... a 6-8 inch crack running from the bottom of the windshield at the center; upwards. (If pics required let me know). This is not a rock chip mainly because it's just a hairline fracture.

I understand our cars come with lighter windshields however has anyone had this happen to them. Moreover, will the dealership replace the windshield since it is a product defect (that is what it seems like). I will let the guys at Speedyglass check it out, however I really rather not fork over $400 for a new windshield because of random occurrence.

 

never seen that happen. 2 evo's not one crack.

 

I had a crack but I think it came from a rock hitting my windshield on the highway. It started at about 4 inches then grew to 8 inches that's when I had it replaced, cost about $350.
