have 30,000 miles on my car, it started idleing terrible the last couple weeks, was going to have it dyno'ed and they found it was running lean, I found the solution on here.
I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow just in case, But I have zipped tied it already.
I'll let you all know if I get any where with it.
Great thread!

Just the latest victim of this. I had intended to fix it and never got around to it. Every time I remembered I needed to do it, working on the car was inconvenient. At least the fix was easy. Hopefully it didn't cause any permanent damage.

I'm glad this is an easy fix. The number of people with this problem is staggering. Between this and the fuel pump relay failure (that they'll only fix if you get the right DTC), it's like Mitsubishi is purposely trying to blow up our engines.

Man, I'm glad I'm a part of these forums.
My idle randomly went to hell, and power was surging during decent acceleration. But I automatically knew what to look for, and sure enough, it was off. Thanks guys!
