No more 4b11T?

My car said 85% Japanese, and 15% German when I purchased it. I figured that 15% German was because I have the TC-SST, which is made by GETRAG. Plus the car was designed by European designers, whether they were German or not, I don't know. My point is, I didn't think the engine (4B11) was built in America going by what I stated.

I am not convinced the 4b11t will be discontinued in the EVO. Mitsu could always purchase these motors from Chrysler...Could right?
While I own an X and have no issues with my motor, I would not be sad to see mitsu return to the 4g63, even though the 4b11t appears to be MUCH more efficent.
I doubt really the 4g63 will return, but if so...cool!

I wouldn't sweat it, Mitsubishi hasn't got a long with Chrysler in years from the research I've done. Chrysler was somewhat the death of Mitsubishi... They did however bail Mitsubishi out when the did the no year of interest/payments fiasco years back. Needless to say I think this is one of the best things to happen, saying Chrysler sucks would be more than polite.
I'm ready for the return of the 4g63 if need be!

"The World Engine has five factories worldwide; two (GEMA) in Dundee, Michigan, United States, two in South Korea and one in Shiga, Japan. "
Means nothing. The Dundee plant is two of five factories building these engines and the 4B11T is made in Shiga.

Mitsu and Hyundai use this motor in (arguably) their best line of cars, I'm sure they'll keep making them.

Though I highlighted the keyword, you're probably right. Though it's hard to say for sure because there aren't many cars with the 4b11 over a year or so old, I'm thinking it's a step forward from the 4g63 anyway.

The upside if they do retire the 4B11 after such a short run...they can make the replacement a fully-closed deck!
