I paid 31k for sss and aero and with the interior package (shift knob, brake handle etc.) .9 % apr.

Traded in my Rsx-s that I bought in 06. Had 14,4xx miles on it and always garage kept. Can count on my hand how many times it saw rain lol.

I had the evo x a year and I have 4,500 miles on it. :P 800 was the drive home from the dealership.

My dealership quoted me 49k for a GSR.. I actually have his business card with the quote on it still. Brings a great chuckle to me every time i see it. Thats why im in the process of importing one now, saving myself almost 20k

That's because on the VIII's and IX's the pedal was metal. Now ours our plastic.

If you were on a track mid corner at or near the limits, it could be disasterous if your pedal broke.

Exclamation One more broken gas pedal for the count...

Well folks, another one bites the dust.

Earlier today, while accelerating, my gas pedal completely snapped off. Wow, seriously Mitsubishi?
Yup. Real safe isn't it?
Thankfully it didn't happen while trying to merge in front of oncoming traffic or anything.
I was able to coast into a parking lot, went ahead and called Mitsubishi Roadside Assistance. Took about 15 mins to actually get somebody on the phone but I finally got connected. The rep asks me to check the vehicle for any tow points so that he can inform the tow company which is on the other line. But guess what? MITSUBISHI, YOU MORONS PUT FAKE TOW POINTS ON THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE FREAKIN' CAAAARRR!!!!
So I wait an hour for the tow truck and we managed to get the car onto the flatbed safely. Dropped the car off at the dealer. Tomorrow morning going to get a loaner(I hope they don't give me a hard time for one because i'm definately not in the mood).

My question is, how the HELL isn't this a safety recall yet!?!? And I understand that most cars these days also have PLASTIC gas pedals, but whoever designed this one is such a major FAIL.

Anyway, here are some pics my buddy snapped with his phone to show some of the stupidity...

(Pedal being held up to show it's breaking point)

Mitsubishi, if you are listening...it's time for a Safety Recall ASAP!

Update:

So I'm at the dealer waiting for a loaner/rental and I start walking around the showroom and checking the other Mitsu cars. They all have the same plastic pedal.

I start talking to one of the techs and he tells me that they are made to break so it doesn't damage anything further on the throttle unit.

I'm not saying he's lying or anything, but if that's the case, then that is a REALLY stupid thing to do on Mitsubishi's part.

Next step for me is to contact Mitsubishi directly on this issue because I don't need this to happen again in the wrong place and the wrong time.

If I get nowhere with them, then I'm going to have to take further steps with an attorney.

This is a SAFETY issue and they need to come up with a solution for it because I'm not the only one who has had it happen.
