What are the problems of the new STI?
I used to own a 05 sti, I like the car but it's too loud for me (I guess I'm getting old). I bought the MR so my wife can drive it. I love the car but the monthly payment suck. I dunno if I'll go back to subaru. I'll definitely won't buy another mitsubishi. Not bec of the car but dealer availability. The nearest dealership at my place is at least 40 min away.

06 STi > 07 STi > Evo x

I love my evo x ! When time will come to sell my Evo, i will consider buying anything with sti badge only if it will be a sedan with 2.0l engine (no more 2.5) ...

I've had two Subaru Imprezas, a 2005 RS2.5 and a 2007 WRX Limited. My WRX was at Stage 2 with a lot of suspension mods by the time I traded it in for the Evo. The WRX was a good car, it just felt too much like an econo box after a while.

I was in the market at the time to trade up to an STI or an Evo, and I test drove both before buying. I went with the Evo because it just felt like more car for the money...and the styling was way better than the ugly STI hatchback.

04 STi > 93 Rx-7 > 08 Evo X

I miss the Rx-7 however never regret getting rid it for the X.

Bolshoi - 07's and up have had piston and factory tuning issues. Engines on stock cars and lightly modded cars (stage 2), have gone bye-bye.

ive only owned an evo and no subarus, but plan to own a sti for street driving, anda wrx for winter driving and my evo 8 will b the full race car. ive drivin many sti and i absolutely love them. dont get me wrong, i also love the evo. they both have pros and cons. sure the evo handles better, but, at the same time what i noticed while corning my buds 07 sti is that granted it doesnt handle quite as well. however the sti seems easier to control. very simple car. throw it into a corner, while exiting stand on the gas again and slide out. with the evo its seems to grip, than slide, than grip again during hard cornering making it unperdictable at times.

and as for the EJ rumble, I JIZZ IN MY PANTS. we got a JDM EJ20 car in my shop yesterday and she sounds oh so sexy

I had a 2002 WRX before I bought the evo. It was Stg 4. Upgraded turbo, inj, IC, Exhaust, UTEC etc. Made 280 whp on a Dyno Dnamics dyno. It was a great car. And the boxer rumble is awesome. I will always love Subarus.

that being said, when it came time to buy a new car this year, I test drove a 2009 STi first, it was quick, nice car, but Im not buying a station wagon! I think they ruined the STi by making it a wagon.

Test drove the evo about 30 min after test drving the STi. I was sold on the evo from the second I slipped into the Recaros. ahah. I <3 my X.

Pics of the old WRX

Yeah, if the car is stock, they will definitely cover it from what it sounds like.

The wagon grew on me, as it did others... with some exterior tweaks, it looks pretty nice - I think.

Here's mine, and there are a good amount more that are even more tricked out, I'll find a link to probably the best 08+ STI at the moment.

I had an 05 STi (my last car was an IS350). COmpared to the Evo X, it felt really tinny and was very uncomfortable. The new STI seems to have fixed that, but I just can't get over the style. One thing that was frustrating about the STi at the time was that it didn't respond to mods like an Evo would.
