Edmunds InsideLine just blew their ACD on their "project EvoX"

I'm not sure how many have been following Edmunds InsideLine long term test of their 2008 Evo X GSR. Goal was to purchase mods to make the GSR as fast as the GT-R around a track, straightline, etc.
Well, their recent big turbo Garrett upgrade maybe wasn't the best choice, but just this past week there was a problem with their center diff. The blog above describes it. It's at Road Race Engineering for diagnosis and proposed fix.
Edmunds isn't treating like a warranty item, b/c of all their mods, but has anyone had this similar leaking of ACD fluid into the transfer case? Seems unusual given how many high hp/tq Evo X's are out there.
