the transmissions in these cars cost as much or more than a jetski- no way- not even local haul would I do it.
I take it you haven't priced jet skis lately?

My 2004 turbo Honda Aquatrax is 750lbs dry and not counting the trailer.

i also didnt say it was great for the car my boat ramp is about 2 miles from my house if i didnt have a truck i would put reese hitch on the evo, the incline at the ramp would be the killer though
Its a little different pulling a ski around on the tongue jack. I pull my Honda with a 2007 Ford Edge AWD and you can definately feel it back there. I believe it has 265hp and is rated at 3500lbs.
I don't think the tranny would be the issue. I think the clutch will be the first thing to go. My buddy use to pull his 99' Sea-Doo XP with his 99' Civic Si. His clutch didn't last long and I seen his car almost get pulled into the water a few times cause the ramp was slick.

Newer skis don't wiegh 500lbs. My 2 seater Honda is 750lbs dry. PWC's have changed alot in the past 10 years that I've been riding them.
Personally, I wouldn't tow a PWC with my 9 simply cause the clutch will die and a trailer hitch looks like ace on the back.
