2010 EVO X plastic valve cover? WTF?

2010 EVO X plastic valve cover? WTF?
I just took off the red/black plastic MIVEC cover, so I can get the valve cover sent for powder coat. And guess what I find??

A valve cover made of plastic!! Does anyone know if the 2008 EVO X has a plastic or metal valve cover? (what a disappointment)
