In Colorado they don't care whether or not you pass on a drive by. But, if you pass twice within 6 months of renewing your plates, then you don't have to go to a shop. You still pay the emissions test fee, but it's not like they're going to come after you if you fail. It's not that big of a deal. This really is OLD news...

Its old in Colorado and Texas, its not even implemented yet in Tennessee. Hence why I posted it up. I wanted to hear how it was from those of you guys who have been living with it awhile.

emission emission... how about one medium volcanic eruption?

In EU you got a big trouble if you doesn't meet with the environmental standards . I hoped it will never came here...

How accurate can a drive by infra-red sniff be? All it does it tag the gross polluters- which is probably the fairest over-all inspection method, but here if you even exceed 5% O2 reading due to a muffler with holes or other exhaust leak, you fail due to air dilution.

Drive beside one of those Prius' out there and dump as much smog as you can, so that they wonder how they failed the test.
