Dealer calls to tell me they forgot to put mitsu on title as lien holder
So same as title saids, dealer where I got my car from calls me saying that there was a mix up and they forgot to put mitsu motor corps as the lien holder on my title. Now title of car is in my hands and they told me to put it in an envolpe and mail it to them so they canfix the problem.
Should I do it? I doubt mitsu is gonna scam me like that right? Or should I say, do I have to mail it back?
Thanks in advance for the advices

Just avoid them like they do all our claims. Make 'em wait and sweat a bit.

hahaha wow at any rate though you signed a contract to pay the car off to the lein holder... so you still have to make your payments etc. and in the fine print it may say something about the title having mitsu as the lein holder.

i don't see why you have an obligation to send your lien back. their mistake. papers signed. maybe somewhere in the mass of papers you signed it says the car's unless you pay off the loan first, but last i recall there was no such clause. if you have a loan out of it from then it just works as any loan with collateral. i could be wrong though.
and like others said. loves to shaft us, so here's your chance to shaft them. do et.

my buddy had the same problem when he bought his $90,000 viper, the dealer forgot to put an extra "0" and so the loan was only for 9K! lol He told them he wasn't going to change it. Long story short, he had a brand new viper for about 6 months before they said they were going to take him to court, and by then he already wanted something new so he just said they could have it back and he never paid a dime on it!
Just thought i'd share a similar experience.

I would not talk further to the dealer about this and I for dang sure wouldn't put the title in the USPS. That's a good way to lose your car.
I would call Mitsu Financial directly. IMO you own the car without a lien. Of course you still owe the money.
Lawyer consultation < $30k+ ? lol.
