Well it's been sometime since I've done any updates, pretty much I've been scrambling to get everything done before the event start and coordinating parts arrivals so that I actually have time to install them. We are leaving this Thursday for the start of the event in South Bend, Indiana at the Tire Rack and both cars are in need of some finishing touches still. You can see my repainted rear sway bar here, the stock endlinks were completely battered and I had to re-thread them to make them useable.

Final Alignment specs were:

-2.5* camber front, -1.5* camber rear

0 Toe Front, 1/8" total Toe in rear

stock caster

The car seems very stable with this combo, although I may consider slight toe out up front (1/32" total toe out max) and a bit less total toe in for the rear and see how that feels. Shock settings seem to be dialed in for a decent street/track mix right now, as we learn more at the limits we'll try stiffer settings and take notes of what works and what doesn't. Either way we will make small changes so nothing that will totally upset the handling of the car.

I did a quick writeup of some Torque Solution products that were sent to us here if you are interested:

http://onelap.rochesterdsm.org/2010/...arts-to-evo-x/

For now I'm back to work in the garage, I should have the transmission , transfer case, rear differential fluids changed tonight along with a fresh oil and filter change. Brakes are going to be done as soon as they arrive, I'll post a nice writeup when I'm done. Girodisc stepped up big time along with Garfield at TunersNation when another vendor couldn't deliver their 2 piece rotors before the event start.

Deatschwerks also was able to get me a set of the new 1500cc injectors, although after talking it over with my co-driver, we plan on installing those right after the event due to time constraints. We felt it would be suicide to believe I would have the time to install and tune these fully over the next few days without taking more time off from my day job. We are still running the 800cc Deatschwerks injectors and at 25-27 psi boost they will work just fine for our needs. Plans are to upgrade the entire fuel system including a 400 LPH pump along with a surge tank so that my track days at Watkins Glen towards the end of the month will be the test bed.

More details on the car prep shortly when I get more time!

Cool TunersNation and GiroDisc Sponsor the Evo X!

I'm happy to announce that TunersNation and GiroDisc are on board sponsoring the Evo X this year for the 2010 One Lap of America!

You can read all about it here:

http://onelap.rochesterdsm.org/2010/...akes-to-evo-x/

Stay tuned for event results since after we take care of registration Sean will be tearing up the wet skidpad and see what the car can do with these tires and suspension.

Saturday I'm seeded 15th right after the One Lap VR4 in 14th and the results of that road course will determine the run groups for the rest of th event.

Should be interesting and stay tuned to our website for live updates!

After 9 days of driving with over 4500 miles under our belts, we returned from a successful rookie year fielding my 2008 Mitsubishi Evolution X. With 1st place in the Mid-Priced Sedan class out of 10 cars and 7th overall out of 68 cars, it’s hard to imagine that we could have done any better for our first year out. Our strategy for this year was to shoot for a top 20 finish without risking the car since it’s also a daily driver. Since we didn’t previously drive any of the tracks before this event, we knew that our morning sessions would be about learning the course and that the afternoon session we hoped to improve more than the rest of the field on average. You know when the entry list includes Leh Keen in a well prepared Porsche GT2, last year’s champion GTR team, another GTR piloted by Catesby Jones and Jose Callado, and a well sorted out Corvette pilotted by Danny Popp and the team, you are going to be up against some stiff competition in the top 10. As the events progressed it was obvious those teams were a cut above the rest and we had our work cut out for us.

You can read the entire article here with more in car and out of car videos coming soon!

http://onelap.rochesterdsm.org/2010/...-race-summary/

We figured it's about time we see more representation from the Evolutions out there and should have an even stronger showing next year!

Motor Trend posted a 20 minute summary video of the 2010 event, the Evo X and VR4 make quite a few appearances as well.
