sorry, bad assumption on my part--i assumed the vr4 would handle just as badly. i drove the "sl." it really did handle worse than even econo cars to me. but you're right--it's possible that the different drivetrain of the vr4 could have changed its driving/handling dynamics, along with maybe other tweaks.
