Acting Strange
Here is the brief on what has happened with the car in last 5-6days.
Drives fine until last week throws a service engine soon on the upper right corner only. I get advice to have it identified because I don't have a tune. My mods are Injen intake and Greddy TBE. I wanted to see for my self and drive the car one day with the light on. Next day I was about to leave to the mechanics but before going I opened the hood to see if it might be the vacuum line something I can do myself. I also checked the oil level and all the connections. Nothing from my quick check. I close the hood and turn on the car and presto the service engine soon is gone.
These few days I have noticed a few odd things. Transmission shifts way easier than ever. It was a lot harder to shift than now. One more thing the stock BOV does not make as much noise as it did before.
I also seems like the exhaust is less loud or pushes out with less force (my feeling).
I have no clue what the heck is going on. Any insight from evo experts would help.
P.S. I don't care about the interior rattles. It's winter.

It's not so safe running an intake w/o a tune. You're probably running lean. Why not try out the cobb AP stage 2? It has a map calibrated for your mods and you can see what codes you're throwing.

I need more thoughts from someone that has experienced some of the symptoms. I could really use it because I am lost as to where to start.
My thoughts replace the :
----transmission fluid with BG Syncro II or alike
----Change oil and filter
----Check the clutch maybe look at the plastic master cylinder
----AMS custom tune or Cobb of the shelf stage II 93 octane map with the pill removed
Apart from that??

Ok, I had the setup for 8 months no problem once. The BOV was loud for those 8 months no it is not as loud all after the service engine light.
The shifting could be due to warmer temps but I talked to a buddy who is a mechanic he said that it is normal for the shifting to change and loosen up. It is braking in. I still will change the fluid even if he did say that in Severe condition 15000 mile change. I knew that information but as some forum members said BG syncro II made shifting better.
P.S. never got the code because it went away by me opening the hood and checking connections??
Can it be still pulled even if it does not show anymore. Is it in the ecu memory?
