So I was thinking of reseting my ECU by pulling the negative led to my car battery. I couldn't find any other way of doing it, but anyway my question is will it reset all my other settings? Such as navigation address book, blue tooth, maintenance record? I guess i could live with it and re-enter everything, but my address book just has a lot of people and places i've driven to and i would hate to re-enter all of that. Just curious, anyone done it yet and know if it loses anything? Or better yet if anyone knows of any better way of reseting the ecu?

 

just disconnect both plugs to the ECU in the engine bay...(with the key off obviously)
