Trade in

Thinking about trading in my 09 ralliart for a 08 evo mr with 4100 miles on it. Need some opinion if this is a good idea. I planned on trying to get a evo x turbo on my ralli anyways. Just worried about the trade in value and such.

sounds like you should go to the dealer and run a credit app, and decide based on that.

If you can afford it. Getting something you want is never a bad idea.

Well dealer is asking about 30k for it. The only problem I have is that it's 3 hours away. So, if I go I want to make sure I'm probably going to get it. I emailed them but haven't heard anything yet. Thanks for the replies.

you are going to get a huge hit on the trade in value of your ralli

30k sounds kinda cheap for an MR with only 4100...id be worried that something is wrong with it..i don't trust used turbo cars at all.

Remember all the added costs of the Evo over the ralliart, not cheap to maintain.

+1 Most traded in Evo's I have seen were used and abused. Some of them were put back to stock. So be careful..

It also sounds like stock X parts are pretty cheap if you want to bolt some on. Half the guys on here have a closet of full of stock stuff doing a whole lot of nuthin'.

Yea, on my Evo 8 I went through a two year lawsuit with it because it was a "good deal". I will never buy a used turbo car again unless its super cheap, 5k or lower for a beater...or if I get it fully inspected by a good body shop and awesome mechanic.

30k is a lot of money, so if you are going to think about this car, get it inspected like a hawk, preferably have a tuner check it out to so they can see if it's the stock map and things like that. DON'T trust the dealer's word on anything...find out for yourself...i am speaking from experience.

ˆ What they said… Unless you are concerned about warranty, I would just mod the Ralliart. Looks like people are pushing some nice power out of them with bolt-ons and tunes.

ok maybe I didn't quite understand what the OP said, but the used Turbo thing? I thought he meant he was going upgrade the turbo on his Ralliart...

I bought my IX MR used with 9k miles and I had some knowledge about EVOs(and modded turbo cars... my previous car was an STI) and what to look for to see if the engine had been modded or not... and I drove 9 hours to go get it and I had told myself that if the car was screwed up or something was fishy when I got there, I would just walk away. I suggest you drive out there and since you have knowledge on what EVOs look like when modded then use this as an advantage to you and go and check the car out firsthand and drive it. I also suggest you find a local member here that has some experience with modded EVO Xs.

I know this sounds like a lot of work but what someone else said is true... 30k spent and you end up with a modded lemon is a NO NO...

a 3 hour drive and being able to walk away is priceless compared to what you could end up with a screwed up car because you feel like you have to buy it when you get there... Good luck and I hope this helps

After looking at the information agan it says it has aftermarket exhaust, ksk suspension, cold air intake an a few other mods. So it makes me wonder why the original owner did everything then traded it in with 4100 miles on it.

I was taking about putting the evo x turbo in the ralliart after bit.
