Regarding inspection;

I have invidia DP with HFC and Invidia N1 catback, just wondering if i should use cobb ap to flash back to stock map? or should i leave it with the stage 2 map?

Thanks

I don't think it's worth the hassle. The only emissions check is really done through OBDII and as long your not running a nasty smelling test pipe or throwing codes I think any inspection station would pass you. Just stay away from BP - those guys woulden't pass my stock Evo for some BS reason.

I also heard it's legal to have an open filter intake for turbo cars. Can anyone confirm this?

cali is a different beast than any other state. In Illinois I passed without a cat just fine. Had a mechanical fix in there. My friend with an 06 STi passed with his stage 1 AP also catless. He had an option in there to disable his rear o2 sensor from throwing a code.

Strangely, the readings off of the Evo (stock) were higher than the readings from my 15 year old pickup. I had them both tested on the same day. I imagine with the AP, you would get lower readings, as it's not running so rich.

so i'm an idiot, I flashed the car back to the stock map using the cobb ap, thinking that may help me pass inspection, i didn't realize this would require the the car to be driven a few cycles before the o2 system would be ready to pass inspection

so i took the car and it failed since the car hadn't been driven a few cycles after the reflash. o2 system not ready

So i drove the car some more and i got the 'service engine soon' warning (since im using the stock map with new downpipe with HFC)

my options:

1) keep stock map on and just clear the code using the cobb ap, or does that clear the ecu like a reflash does? requiring me to drive the car for awhile ? i need to clear the code but have the o2 system in a 'ready' state

2) flash to the cobb stage 2 map, i will not get any type of check engine light - but do these maps disable all of the o2 monitoring?

3) reinstall my stock downpipe with stock cat

thank you
