I don't know, that seems a tad high to me. I got a quote when I got my evo, and the same thing was gonna be $480. I never ended up getting it done, but I found a local dude on craigslist and had him do my truck. $125 for the whole thing.

I think it's a good idea, you should get the rear corners of your door/side skirt done too. I have a lot of rock chips around that area, and I'm sure most EVO X owners on this board do as well

It was my first purchase when i bought my X. I found a company that sells the cutouts and me and a friend did the whole front end of my car in just a few hours time. Turned out perfect. I would definitely purchase one again for another new car.

I just let my car get chipped up -mostly on the lower rocker when I went off course on a track day. It didn't seem to affect the enthusiasm of the guy who bought it. The places where the car get chipped are more on the fenders and less on the hood front anyhow.

I have my car done. It really saves the cheap paint they put on the car

Far far more important than front, mirrors or whatever...

Would love to get the front and sides done, but really not sure if it's worth spending that much on partial coverage.. or maybe just putting the money towards a better paint job down the road instead.

Any thoughts on 3M vs new paint??

I had an 09 GTS for 11 months with NO 3M clear bra on it and right before I totalled it, it had over 100 small rock chips on my hood, front fenders and mirrors and the rear section of my side skirts were literally sandblasted. When I got my RA to replace it, I fought with the dealer to install the 3M bra for free (they charge $700 cdn for material and install) I got it on the bottom half of the hood, front end, mirrors, front fenders and most importantly on the bottom of rear doors and side skirts. After my 1st winter with the RA and 1st hand wash of the season I counted the rock chips on a single hand which is pretty unbelievable for Mits paint. I can only really notice it when my car is really dusty. I would never buy a again without a 3M actually probably any car without a 3M bra again.

Back lower corner of the rear door gets sandblasted the worst.

Peel off that worthless little "paint protector" sticker Mitsubishi puts on the rear door and 3M it like this:
