I wouldn't lease or buy an X if you didn't plan to mod it, even if you do have an Evo 8 to play with.

These cars are really, really ****ty with no mods. Like, really bad. Really really. Horrid.

Always negociate the price of the car- not the payments. Have them print out the possible scenarios you are considering and crunch the numbers on your own. There are opportunity costs in every decision.. you just have to decide what is best for you!

you can do anything you want to a lease car as long as you buy it at the end of the lease. You can put a million miles on it and light it on fire if you want to.

I'm leasing my 2010 WW MR-Touring and I've already done quite a few mods to it (FP Red, UICP, Intake, Cams, Fuel Injectors, Fuel Pump, Catch Can, Interior Mods, Etc.) and I intend on buying it out after the lease. Was a much more attractive option leasing it for 4 years and then buying it out at a lower cost at the end of the lease. Financing a $40 car can put a major hurting in your wallet every month. I figured that leasing would give me about $200-$300 lower payments which I could use towards mods on the evo. Plus a minimal down payment ($2000) to get me into one. If you thought of putting $2000 down on a finance, you may as well put nothing down. It's not gonna make but a $30-$40 lower payment which isn't ****! Anyway, these evos keep their value since it is a popular vehicle. They far exceed their buy out price at the end of the 4 years. If you end up tuning the car either way, your warranty is void regardless. Sure there are deceiving tricks with stock maps to revert back to if you stumble across a warranty issue but if you choose to do that, you can do that either way. $5k down is a lot for a lease though. My buddy got a 2010 WW GSR without navy for $2k down n his payments are $394. That's around the target you want to look at. I wouldn't put $5k down. Try other dealers. Mine is only at $473 on a lease and that's a steal for an MR Touring. Anyway, GL with your hunt. Make sure you take some lube with ya in case you let them man handle you n take your mangina!
