The things you need to upgrade are some bigger injectors, new fuel filter (ours is paper and it goes bye bye) and possibly a new fuel pump. Of course you also need to get tuned... but thats a given.
It is not that what I am worry about.
it is to run out of gas before the 20mn cession is over.
I will hate to go with a fuel cell of 17gal or more

I have read that the best way to remove that stuff is with the use of dry ice, a hammer and a chisel.

I am not looking for a lot of HP but more for torque and a curve with HP on a wide spread rpm band not a huge number only from 5500 to 6500.
I also want reliability as pulling hard for 20mn is different that pulling 10''

I start to agree with you the window are not that heavy but the motor and the mecanism are. Also for the front window I need to be able to drop them . how?
As far as the rear window how much do you think is the weigh saving from glass to lexan?

The problem on this is not the weight saving but more that there is wires everywhere

what do you mean by this? is the under panel helping for cooling? or just because of air flowing better with the panel under the car

good point there thanks

I am really surprise about your remark here. On all the car I mods the sway bar was a huge improvement more than the schocks. The good thing about coil over is easy adjustement. On my vette I put T1 spring bilstein and T1 sway bar. the car turn 100% flat and a huge grip. But I have no adjustement to play with. Is it that bad?
Is the Evo really special as normaly you can stay with softer adjustement which help on grip as a stiff sway bar take care on the balance from side to side and helping both spring to work together. I know the sway bar are not that important at lower speed but for cornering at high speed they are very important.
Again this is my first AWD car and don't know them much so it could be different from what I experienced before

I need to go through this.. But so far it scares me.
I need to keep the heater to defrost the wind shield

Thanks you.
This is a lot of help. I was very frustrated at the beginning with the kind of answer I received. It has been much better recentley with real nice person and helpfull comments.
I am starting to find the help I received from the corvette community when I started to mods the car.

with bolt ons on stock turbo , you will get a good amount of TQ so still you dont need to worry. Fact is the TQ will be sooner there then any other set up , unless its a smaller turbo. Aslo depends a lot on the tuner too. Do not over boost the car. You dont need over 24-25 PSi on stock turbo set up on circuit racing.

The front driver and passenger door windshiled ... tell you the truth we dont even bother to modifyed that oen so i cant help there. Probably the manual would be a best solution from the regular lancer .

The wires are will be a problem since its a life line for the S-AWC . So you can't really make any big progress there , unless you go for a stand alone's. Which i do not recommend on bolt ons. Aslo the S-AWC is a very complex system , you dont want to mess with it.

Under panel helps for engine cooling as well aerodynamics. And protect the car also. You dont want run without under panel in circuit. Most tracks doesn't even allow that.

I will ask the buyer to trade me his door

thanks for all the help
cool , i hope i can help a little for start . Then you can rely some builders and other racers opinion in your build. But make sure they are respectable. Dont go with local weekend warrior experts opinion. That can lead to a dead end.
Always check around before you make a bigger decision. Like a roll cage and so on. Also check the rule book the organization you want or might to want to run, about everything. Example NASA and SCCA. Safety systems , seat brackets , oil spill kit, etc.

It is definitly going to be hard to eliminate wires in a car this new with so many electronic systems. I have done some similar projects and even built a newer Audi race car that we stripped and reduced miles of wire out of. We can help you out with this project up at SCR Performance in Loveland, give us a call and we can go over your plans.
