Missing hose from coolant expansion tank?
I got my 2010 EVO X MR Touring about 2 months ago.
One day, I was checking under the hood and noticed there was no hose running from the coolant expansion tank comparing to other engine bay I found on google image.
I took the car to the dealer and they had the parts guy out and told me it's new design for 2010.
Is it true? Can you guys verify it for me by checking yours? Thanks.
My engine bay, the circle part is what I am talking about:

It's just a ~10'' long hose that goes behind the tank and is open.. like an overflow relief hose. It doesn't attach to anything else. You should have one on there, especially since the fitting is there for it. It isn't necessary, but it will prevent antifreeze from getting your engine bay sticky if there's ever any that spurts out that little hole. Tell the dealership to order the hose for you.

wiretap, thanks and that's what I think, too. It's not necessary, but since it should come with the car and I paid for it, so why not have it? Anyone else is missing the hose?

Just got back from the dealer. Had them open the hoods for one 2010 MR and one 2010 MR Touring and both didn't have the hose attached. Then I asked them to open one 2008 GSR hood and there was the hose.
I guess it's really the '10 thing. Just so other 2010 EVO X owners know this too.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess some have it and some don't. Maybe it's a mid 2010 change decided to do .
I challenged the parts guy that I don't want to see dried coolant on top of my bottle. His response was that the cap just releases coolant pressure to the atmosphere directly in the gas form. I couldn't say anything back to him cause I don't see any signs of coolant drips, either. Maybe I haven't driven the car hard enough....

i would think dealer would get the part for you, as you did purchase the car..
but it probably isn't worth the hassle, so grabbing one from auto parts store for cheap might do the job just fine.
