The Evo X made an appearance on Jalopnik's latest top-10 list, titled "Ten Cars With Faces Only A Mother Could Love."

We're only at #10, but it made me laugh when I saw the article title and thought, "Oh, I bet we're on this list..."

 

It's one of the best looking front ends imo

 

I know damn sure my mom did not like my face of my evo when I bought her!

 

The look of the front was one of three - four decided factors for me between the X and an STI. Of course, their opinions look to be the complete opposite of mine.

I think the Lamborghini Reventon, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, and the MazdaSpeed3 all have great front ends. They all do a good job of conveying the spirit of the car. The Reventon is simply gorgeous. The fact it's on the list calls all 10 into question, in my opinion.

The front end is the reason WHY I choosed EVO over STI.... However, if they are talking about the rear end, then it's the opposite....

 

I love the mitsu front end. Sometimes I just stare at it in the garage or as my desktop background

 

Honestly I'm not a fan of the Genesis front end. It just looks akward and the MS3 still looks juvenile from head on. The EVO's front end is distinctive (as opposed to just plain goofy as in the MS3) so you are always going to have some that don't like it.

OK... well, after reading the article, I am at least glad to have one of the most pissed looking cars out there. Cars aren't supposed to be happy, especially ones that get flogged like ours. I totally LOL'd at these two descriptions:

What's So Ugly: The Mazdaspeed 3 presents a monologue: "Hi guys! I'm so happy to be here! Let's go driving! Can we go fast? I love going fast! What, you do too? Great! Oh. You like going fast so people can't see my face? Why? You say it's too silly for a car of my stature? That's almost a nice thing to say! Thanks! Let's go!"

What's So Ugly: What happens when you combine the puffy, undefined punum of the ordinary 350Z with a horrible chin spoiler? You get a scaredy-Z. This car looks absolutely terrified. The 370Z may look like a catfish, but at least it's an angry, mean-looking catfish. Its older brother looks like it's about to tuck its tail between its legs and run away.

 

I love the Evo front end so I have to disagree with the author on that but I think he's spot on with the MS3. The retarted looking smiley face on that car makes me LOL everytime I see one on the road.

 

If its one of the ugliest cars, why when I am driving around are heads turning left and right just staring at the car until they can not see it any more? and how come I've gotten no lie at least 3-4 compliments on how great the car looks or how cool it is EVERY week since I bought it...

+1 on the rear being ugly, but from the front, I think it looks pretty good. Just about every one of the cars on that list looks good.

 

Front and Side Profile = sex

Rear, well, you kinda have to be a booty guy to love that one.
