Drain oil cooler?

is there a way to drain the oil cooler? Got me thinking that while doing a oil change there is still dirty oil in the cooler. With that said it needs to come out. I dont know how much is in there but I dont like the idea of dirty oil mixing with new oil in my motor. Just **** as I am. Did know if you guys have drained it or what not. I know to disconnect the oil line if I wanted to to but I'm hoping by lifting the front of the car up in the air that it will allow the oil to drain out of the cooler, through the lines and back in to the blow/motor/pan.

I dont believe there is. However--this is what I do, i get a couple of qtrs of cheap 10-30 and drain all my oil. Put in approx 2.5 qtrs of the cheap stuff and start the car and let it idle--Yes, its fine , its not under load and the oil circulates fine with no oil light on --let it run a few minutes then drain. Then I finish the change with the what ever oil I am using. What I end up with is clean synthetic oil ( what I put in) even after a few days its clean--doesnt stay that way but it makes me feel better to get all the crap out-- Just what I do.

I've heard of people disconnecting the lines to the cooler and clearing it out with compressed air. I'm not really sure it's worth the hassle, but if you give it a try some feedback would be nice.

Its not a good idea to mix low quality and higher quality oils together which is what happens in the 2nd post.

Next oil change I will try to drain it, since I've seen that a lot of dirty oil stays there.
I think the only way to drain is disconnect the pipe and use air.
