Rexspeed LHD duel gauge pod a-pillar

has anyone installed this on their car if so how did you install it??

http://www.rexpeed.net/new2007/produ...php?serial=223

did you mount it over the stock a-pillar and dremel the stock a-pillar to run the wires

or

did you remove the stock a-pillar and mount the rexspeed pillar by itself??

I want to mount the rexspeed pillar by its self but there are no mounts or anything on the back of it to have it mounted by its self

If it's anything like the AMI customs one, you remove the stock one and put this in it's place. Didn't know Rexpeed made these... Interesting. I wonder how this compares to the AMI one. This one is significantly cheaper as well.

You sure this one isn't a 3M stick over top of your stock pillar kinda pod?

nah this didn't come with any type of adhesive to stick to the stock pillar

and i would rather not lay it over the stock pillar and have to dremal a hole out of the stock pillar to run the electrical and vacuum wires for my gauges

It was designed to fit OVER the stock A pillar according to:

http://www.evoxparts.com/evoxparts/R...-X-p-742.html#

This double pillar pod covers the entire factory pillar from top to bottom. It fits over the stock pillar.

Old thread but yeah it is designed to fit over the stock pillar. I never mounted mine because I went a different route but go to Home depot and get some heavy duty 3m double sided mounting tape and maybe some moulding tape too if you really want it on there.
