Is it ok to replace oem light/bulbs with higher wattage?

Hey guys, I just want to ask your opinion re: replacing oem wattage bulbs to a higher wattage bulbs, I'm planning of putting H11 bulbs with 12 volts/100 watts , 3000 k temp? Any opinion/advice will help! Thanx!  I just want to make sure I'm not gonna mess up with my harness. Thanx. I appreciate it!

Most cases it is ok, but it is possible you can burn out the wiring for the bulb.

100 watts is almost double. The wiring won't be able to handle it.

I don't know what the wattage on the original bulbs is, but if 100W is in fact almost double, then you should not do this. You can probably get away with a modest increase in wattage, but doubling it will undoubtedly cause you issues. Issues either immediately apparent (wiring melts, headlight housing melts), or slow-acting (headlight temperature increase heats the plastic, causing your headlight covers to get hazy and opaque).
