Wow no rattle? Smooth shifter?

Are you sure you bought an x?

Yeah I was surprised by that. I was expecting a noisy glove box and pillars, but they are dead quiet. The shifter is noisy though, sounds very mechanical as it thunks into gear but there is never a grind or a lockout. A few years back I test drove a new 08 GSR that actually did have a slight grind if you shifted granny. I guess it is luck of the draw?

I think the noise is a result of some very solid bushings? I'm pretty sure I recall the last VIII I drove was the same way. Its a very solid feel

The other thing I noticed is that the exhaust drones progressively louder beginning at exactly 74 MPH. If I stay in the "drone zone" my girlfriend passes out within 10 minutes

Yes the Evo serves so many purposes!

So I decided to finally take a look at my tires today and research the brands. Why? Different rears from the fronts and cheapo's all the way around!

I'm running Capitol Sport UHP on the front. They look like more of an all season despite the ZR rating. For the rears I'm running Delinte DL9100's, and they look like a Z should look in terms of tread and sidewall design. The Capitol's seemed to have acceptable reviews but the Delinte's get slammed pretty badly despite appearances. Anyway, they appear to all be pretty new, tons of tread and I have plans to replace the wheels soon for a 9.5 with 265's.

Anyone else have any experience with Delinte? Just curious....

Well I found another little tidbit when I waxed the car today... seems the passenger door has some paint work on it. Near the top there are some ripples indicative of paintless dent repair and lower down a few grooves that look like sanding artifacts. Looks superficial but something happened there. No signs on any drama on the rear door, quarter or fender though. Whoever the owner was he picked a **** poor shop for these repairs. Luckily they are minor. Now I want a door and a hood

Wouldn't using different tires on front & back screw up the drivetrain on the EVO? I hope you do get these replaced asap.

How? Doesn't matter though, they come off in November for winters and I'm getting wheels for the spring.

Yeah my paint pen is on a slow boat from China. I would not call mitsubishiparts.net shipping "snappy".
