'05 VIII RS to '10 X MR-T

You guys gotta be talking about the Bilsteins. My GSR doesn't have that wobble. The funny thing, though, is that I know exactly what you are talking about. I used to have a 135i, and the runflats + shocks had the same kind of floaty/disconnected feeling when first committing to a high speed turn. Thanks, I think you guys talked me out of a Bilstein swap.

Nice write-up!
This past weekend I traded the '03 Evo VIII I'd daily driven for 6 years in on a new '10 Evo X GSR.
I'm still breaking it in so haven't spanked it, but I've already noticed some of the things you mention. Steering composure, the ability to have phone conversations on the freeway, and the down low torque.
I thought I would miss the VIII more than I have. The X is shaping up to provide most of the VIII's fun without its bad habits. A MUCH more civilized car, and not as embarrassing to be seen in or carry women around in. A young lady of the 'clear plastic heels' persuasion was once riding with me and asked whether my VIII was a Honda Civic. I don't think I'll get that same question in the X!
Mine is Wicked White as well, and I thought the X in general and White in particular would fly under the radar a lot more. I was wrong. The X is getting the same levels of attention the VIII would get.

I'm not sure how I feel about this either. On one hand it's great and the other it's a little disappointing.
Oh well.

Nice review OP and its nice to hear comparisons from someone who use to not like the X.
I am seriously thinking about an MR-T but probably wont jump on one until next spring. My IX MR currently has 24000 miles on it and its mint. Motor still stock. I totally agree about the "busyness" while driving my IX. I am on Swift Sports with the stock Bilsteins and I stay on top of my alignments on the car and its true that the CT9 does require a bit more attention even when just cruising down the road to drive.
Most of the things you mentions are mainly the reasons why I want to switch to an MR-T. And the interior is super sexy.
I just ordered a set of Volks so suspension and wheels will be my first mod when I do get one next spring.
