Coolant problems? Help

Coolant problems? Help
I jst popped my hood and noticed that my upper radiator hoses were close to being pinched shut. I just went on a fairly long trip about 350 miles and noticed this. I started it up and let it run a little while but it just stayed low. I opened the cap and it was pretty dirty:
I put almost a whole bottle of water in it. This happened once before after I had driven about 300 miles about a month and a half ago. And i just refilled and ignored it. What could be causing this? Could it be just a small leak or is it something more like seals in the turbo or something? I can't remember if it is just oil cooled.
I would think that if it was a leak it would happen more often. I DD my car and put about 1k miles on it per month.

I will hopefully tomorrow. I just don't know how it can be a leak when I have put 2000 miles on it and it didn't happen again. Then when I go on another trip, while the turbo can spool almost the whole time because the RPM's are almost at 4k the whole trip, it starts leaking coolant again.

I only have IC piping, H&R springs and an AP. But our local dealership just closed. I would have to drive two hours to a dealership. I looked really quick and don't see any spots where it could be leaking and don't smell coolant. I know I need to do a pressure test tho. I hope its not gonna be the turbo or WP. Sucks. But my RF radio also started messing up(only the AM radio tho) so I could prolly get that replaced too.

Could be a leak in the turbo housing or possibly your head has lifted and damaged the gasket slightly in some manner. It's not as common on the Evo's but the stock head bolts can stretch ever so slightly and under extreme heat and higher boost situations the gasket can fail. Usually compression gasses getting into the cooling system will force the coolant out of the hoses and into the overflow bottle, then when it cools you have an air pocket in the hose that prevents it from drawing the coolant back. If you have a leak to the outside of the block you would see some signs under the car. The Turbo coolant leak could be internal or external so that will be hard to pin down. Be sure to report back and let us know what you find.

i may have the same problem. i looked in my engine bay today and saw coolant spots everywhere, like there was a random spray. engine temps are fine, it runs good, so i took it out to do a few WOT runs, and no coolant spray.
I looked over the whole bay, and couldnt see a single leak point. except i cant see under the exhaust manifold.
dunno whats goin on.
EDIT* i over filled the oil when i changed it last night, so i assume thats what it was.

did you happen to flush your radiator recently?
if so, that white steam residue might mean that you flushed it incorrectly...
you should try getting a warranty, although they may deny it.

I would remove the plastic undertray and place a piece of clean cardboard under the car and let it sit after you just drive the car to see if it is leaking. Be sure not to run your a/c at all when you are doing your drive around town.
