i do like the sound with the stock exhaust honestly, but unfortunately my stock muffler has a bad rattle inside :-( also how much power is really lost on a somewhat stock car by going back to the stock exhaust with a test pipe

The HFC with resonator sounds like a good idea.

The HFC will lower the exhaust note, but it's hard to tell by how much. The HFC should do more then the resonator. A 3.0" resonator won't make that much of a difference, but it does help with the drone. Lower exhaust flow the resonator will be bypassed since the resonator material is on the outer diameter.... Exhaust will always have to push through the HFC material.

Are you considering it in comparison to the stock CC? Or do you have a test pipe? I can't imagine it'd be quieter than the stock PIG CC. If nothing else, the 20 pounds of heat shields absorb kinetic energy = noise. Ok, maybe I exaggerate, but it's heavy and not noisy. I'm assuming your question is in contrast to a test pipe.

From what I've been reading the Buschur Quiet isn't that quiet and that their Cross Flow is a much quieter systems.
Also remember that not all HFC are created equal. HFC is one of those, "you get what you pay for" parts.
On that note, a resonated tp on my old WRXs only changed pitch and resonance (imagine that). In other words, instead of booming at 3-4k rpm, it hummed loudly from 3.5-4.2k.
I question if a mini muffler tp would gain much over stock.
