I have sylvania silverstars and like them very much. Definately brighter than the factory bulbs.

Go with a 35W or 55W HID Xenon Kit.

You won't regret it.

I've been running this 55W 10K Xenons for a little over a year now, under $55 for the whole kit with a lifetime warranty.

Hard to beat it if I say so myself....and BTW I had silverstar ULTRAs before and they worked great. A huge improvement over the stock halogens, but still not as much light output as I have now with my HIDs.

Sorry if this is stupid but do the SSS and non-SSS have different headlights or just different bulbs?

I believe the headlights are the same on non-SSS cars minus the fact that SSS has foglights. The Non-SSS just have foglight covers.

It's not a stupid question; the SSS and the non-SSS do have different headlight assemblies.

Sylvania Silverstar Ultra would be my suggestion, I ran them in my non-HID IX GSR.

Yup! All you have to do is mount the included ballasts that come with the kit and plug in the wires. Doesn't get much simpler than that.

Oh, forgot to say you have to take the headlight assembly out. That is the only pain in the whole install.

The SSS headlight assemblies are projectors. The non SSS are regular reflectors. Without the cutoff from the projector lenses, HIDs will blind oncoming traffic. I'd replace the bulbs with a brighter bulb and save up for projectors if you want HIDs.
