Did I buy the Highest mileage X ever?
lol, as the title says, I recently bought my car with 42,800 on the odo, it is now at 44500 (2 road trips on it so far). It seems like everybody else is at like 20k that I see post. I got what I thought was a great deal on the car, thinking that 40k is low mileage.. but it kind of seems like high mileage now.
Anybody have an 08 X with over 45k?
*EDIT* Just realized I bought her a month ago, today.

When my 2008 got wrecked in January 2010 I had 40k on it and have put 13k on my new one since then so I would not say thats unreasonable. Sounds like it was a full time daily driver like mine is with a decent commute.

Definitely.. I work about 6 miles from my apartment, then drive to school another 6 miles up the road, so I'm driving about 20-25 miles a day, plus if me and the gf go eat or have to run an errand.

I have owned turbo cars in the past, so I understand the maintenance is a little more regular then a normal NA car.. but how long can we expect our cars to run efficiently before having to replace seals and stuff in the turbo housing? While installing my UICP/LICP i noticed very very light oil getting blown through the turbo, just wondering how long before I can expect to start shelling out big cash for aftermarket parts..
because the way I see it, if something breaks, replace it with higher quality aftermarket parts.

Ironic I post this and then driving the car home from lunch I run into this..
I get home and park and turn the car off. The engine cuts off but the radiator fans keep going. I thought maybe they would go off after like 10-15 seconds. I go inside to get my dog and let him out, come back to the car about 2 minutes later and they are still on. So i go and crank the car, turn it off and they are still going. So I turn the AC off and the fans immediately go off. When i come back to drive back to work, the idle is kind of erratic.. it immediately went up to 800 like normal, then dropped to 300 almost stalling, then would go back up, however after driving it, it runs fine.. AC blows cold as ****.
Do our ecu's allow the radiator fans to stay on until the engine temp comes down?

yes i noticed that on super hot days awhile back, i turned the car on again and off thinking it would turn the fans off, but sometimes i think it took a good 5-7 minutes for the fan to finally shut off by itself
