2011 Evo X MR Spoiler Question

What was the rationale to change from the wing to the lip spoiler? Better Cd? I can't imagine there would be more downforce.

aesthetics, to make the MR look more mature and less race car-ish.

Bah......any way to restore some of the aero functionality, bolt on an aftermarket wing? I'm looking at an Evo as a winter car / HPDE car, since I already have a fuel saver as my DD.

To make the car less of a "boy race car" look to appease older folk.

Same here, I wish my new SE had the BIG rear spoiler. It looks too tame with just the lip on it. Anyone wanting to sell their Phantom Black wing let me know!!

If you look full-on profile view, it looks straight-up unbalanced since our cars have such a short trunk/tail.

See if you can find someone to swap trunks w/, a lot of that going on here in SoCal.

or you could just run the Seibon (etc) CF OEM wing unpainted
