i let it warm up for a minute, or for winter (-30*C/-22*F) i let it warm up for a few minutes, then drive her easy without boost for a few km's. even then i ease up into the higher boost.
same for letting it cool down, drive easy on my way to my destination, then let it idle for 3-4 minutes.

The car can be driven almost immediately after startup, but one is better off waiting until the oil temp is up before hitting boost. Oil temp, not water temp. This takes ~5-15 minutes of diving depending on the season. Personally, I almost always warm up the car in the garage before going out. Waiting for boost isn't my idea of driving excitement. YMMV.

When I'm in a rush I wait about a minute then leave. I take it easy for the first 5 miles of the drive on a cold day. Car just feels sluggish to even think about boosting lol.
If I have time to spare I'll wait 2-3 minutes before I drive off. 10 minutes is overkill lol.

Actually, i think i remember reading in the manual which basically states the 1-bar rule that most people follow......i'm the same usually give it some time to 1-bar or almost one bar, and keep it easy till the temps get up

I start my car, scrape the snow and ice off the windows, start my ipod playlist and i am ready to go.
At home its parked in the garage which never gets colder than 5C. I just start and go. I dont hit boost till i am far out of my development and on the highway anyway.
