I went and took a video of mine. If you turn up the volume, you can hear where mine hits the boundaries of the shift. I have a 2008 by the way.

This is the page I ordered mine from TWM:
http://www.twmperformance.com/shorts...rtshifters.htm

go down to the page, there are two options:
Add 2008-2009 Cable Bushings for: $34.95 USD:
Add 2010 Cable Bushings for: $37.95 USD:

I am positive that I chose 2010 option, but now I examed both links, they both point to the same link, so they charged me 3 extra bucks for the same bushings? Also twm only comes with two under hood bushings vs 4 in the link you posted...

Back to the fitment, I still think they are fitting properly, definitely not loosely inserted.
Different brands, different designs, so that's fine.

As long as they're tight then you got the right ones. Mind taking a picture or video of the shifter linkage in action just for kicks?

Ok, this is definitely a problem for me then. The only thing I am missing from yours is the transimission control arm bushing, and I can't get a picture of it from TWM's website.

The transmission arm bushing picture is still hosted on their site. I just looked up a thread I made and my picture is still active. This is what it looks like:

Did you take out the entire underhood shift assembly (for lack of a better phrase)?

There is definitely something wrong with how the shifter is installed in the first video of the OP. Make sure to go over all the instruction manual and check all steps, especially how the side springs with 2 legs needs to be re-installed. If not installed properly, it could very well be the cause of this play.

There are different cable bushings kits for the 08 and the 2010 models, but the problem can't be from there. If you would not have the proper bushings for your car, they would simply not fit.

Definitely check the side spring installation, I'm quite sure the play is coming from there.

Thank you all for all the feedbacks and helps. Last weekend I finally nailed down what the problem was: after carefully going through the install manual again, I discovered the "white nylon" cap, as described in the manual is gone from my transmission arm. As I dont recall seeing this white piece cap at all during my installation, it must have dropped when it pulled the transmission arm out. This little piece of nylon or plastic holds the tightness of the shifter in the left-right direction.

I found something similar to replace this missing part for now, not perfect nor ideal, but it's close to stock as far as the wiggling goes.

Shouldnt have rushed it!!

Thank you everyone again for all the helps.

Good to hear you found exactly what was causing this. The nylon cap is indeed very important on the transmission arm.

Thank you for your email and replies . By any chance I can order this nylon cap anywhere on the web?

I'm curious as to how that piece got lost. Since you only did the shifter cable bushings, you wouldn't need to pull out the entire shift assembly. I can only imagine that it fell of when you took that out and just never saw it again.

Regardless, I'm glad you got it figured out.

No problem! I don't know of any place online where you can get this specific piece. You could check with the dealership if they sell only the nylon piece without the rest of the transmission arm, hopefully at a reasonable price. I unfortunately don't have this at the shop as we developed the bushings on a customer's car.

Thanks,

Frank
