Talking New Evo X

Just got me a 2010 Evo X GSR.

It has been a trip getting used to it over my beloved 05' STi. (was stolen and chopped a week ago)

There are a number of good and bad reasons I got the Evo but in the end i think I am happy with the buy. It was that or the hatchback STi, and while I love the hatch, the Evo handles much better.

I put 70k miles on the STi, it was my daily driver, so i got very familiar with it, got it up to 160mph, drove it in 3ft deep snow, went off-roading up Gold Camp road near Manitou Springs, got caught by the cops with my girlfriend in the backseat (use your imagination ) raced corvettes, smoked mustang cobras, and on and on.

So it will be interesting to see how the Evo holds up to all the punishment in store for it!

My first mod to it was... snow tires

So far I have planned a cold air intake (need all the air you can get 5280 feet) and a cobb AP. I don't want to heavily modify it, but i do want to get some more power out of the car.

Any other mods you guys suggest?

Cheers!

p.s.
Can anyone offer info/suggestions to getting the 'halo' lights for the evo x (kinda like the way the camaro ss and other cars look) dumb idea, good idea, quality etc???

I think I read on nasioc about a Sti getting stolen and chopped, and the guys got busted for it.

If that was you, you have my sympathies and welcome, Im a new X owner myself.

And yes, A/S or snows asap! I'm losing traction in 20F on dry pavement sometimes.

edit: after checking nasioc again, yeah it's def you, lol. Def some mudflaps too and/or some clearbra, hearing the road debris on the panels is horrible. lemme know if you find any local evo forums besides coloradoevo, cause the evo community in these parts doesn't seem to be as tight knit as the local subie/honda guys.

LICP is not a must
CAI is not a must

IMO
Turbo Back/Tune will get you most bang for the buck.

Welcome and congrats, and sorry to hear about the STI. I'm a former Subaru guy having had a couple WRX and was actually looking for a 05 or 06 STI when I finally gave up and settled for a new Evo X.
