I remember back in 04 when I worked at a detail shop. a rich kid brought his jdm'd 8 in for a cleaning and it had a bunch of ARC junk on it. I remember thinking damn if I ever get an evo I'll b sure to not waste money on jdm goodness. most stuff from japan is well made but but most doesn't seem like lot of R&D go into it.

i thought econ 101 was "supply and demand"..
there was a high demand until when the Yen started to drop vs the US dollar.. then all Japanese parts became a little more out of reach...
it's just like Tiffany's & Co or Cartier.. good quality stuff go for premiums along with the name... if you dont like it, don't get it.
i mean. why didn't we all get Hyundais instead? it's way cheaper than an Evo.. blah blah argument

You mad? Its an Evo. Just an Evo. A 4-door econo car base with 15k of engine and drivetrain. Not a Porsche, Vette, or Ferrari. Where owners will pay more for same type of parts we have on our cars because they have said car.
"if you don't it, don't get it..." Exactly my point. Supply and demand. No demand for elevenbilliondy dollar Evo parts = no supply (no ARC). Not saying they did not make nice parts, but prices were overdone. Like having a pair of Mikey Jordans back in the day. Overpriced shoes, paid for status. Wont make you a baller.
And as the Evo goes the way of DSMs, less people will be willing to spend top dollar with the Ebay or used market available.

They are status parts. If you need to pay an exorbitant amount for a part to make yourself either feel better or fit it with a crowd, I pity you.
Its not about spending money to spend money. Its about spending money wisely. If your "American Dream" is chalked full with trying to fit in, be popular, buy expensive/overpriced things, and be pretty; well then, best of luck to you. You'll never be happy.

I have a few ARC parts, but bought them cheap used. I just like to make my JDM Honda buddies jealous. lol. They do make parts for higher end cars like Supras and Skylines (I think) but I agree that this was not meant to be a large successful business. Just not enough people willing to spend the money to buy that stuff for Mitsus and Hondas and "cheap" cars like that. Meaning the parts are simply too expensive for the type of cars they go on. I actually thought it was just a small company, like a small group of guys made parts on the side, but I guess it was considered more legit. It sucks to see anything fail but I think this was inevitable after 2008's tanking of the economy.
