Gauge Mounting, new idea.... Maybe?

So i finally got my hands on my new gauges and have been scratching my head and putting off the install until i found a great mounting spot. After looking around and going on many forums, i must admit that many people have found very nice spots.

Recently i have found this: http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=203584

This was on an RX8 Forum (rx8club.com)

As i am looking at this, i realize that we essentially have the same vent on the X to the left of the driver.

You guys think this is possible with a little tweaking here and there?

I like it, but you'd have to finagle a way to make it work with our vent.

I like it and it's different but if you're gonna put them there then why not just put them on your a-pillar.

Seems like more trouble for a similar position than just an a pillar gauge pod.

looks good to me, i personally don't like pillar pods. and don't want to drill into anything to mount a gauge cup so this seems like a good alternative, i wouldn't want 2 though just the one.

Why dont more people use this:

http://www.cp-e.com/content/mitsubis...ionx-gauge-pod

It snaps in like a stock piece and the best part is its 1/2 off right now....
