Whose car was this? From Tom Peck Ford Huntly, IL

Just bought a 08 GG GSR. It has AMS CAI, AMS dual tip, AMS FMIC and I was told it was all done by AMS, the dealer says they have been trying to get a hold of the old owner but won't return there calls. Just wondering if the old owner is on here so I can figure out what has been done with the tuning. And yes crappy picture I know, picture taking is not my forte.

Don't believe the dealership that they can't get a hold of the owner or that the owner won't call back. Once they have given the previous owner a release of liability, the owner has already been released of everything.

I know you're just trying to get info from the owner, but if he/she chooses not to speak to you, you're pretty much gonna have to do this on your own. It's one of the advantages of selling to a dealership. If there are any headaches or unknowns with the car, the owner is saying "good luck fixing it and good luck to whomever buys it".

I hope your car runs well and have fun and be safe.

I had a similar issue when I bought my X used from a dealer. It has every AMS bolt on you could get but the tune needed some adjusting and I didn't know what was used(Cobb,Opensource,Etc..) I took it to AMS and they were able to determine it was Cobb tuned and since I didn't recieve the Accessport when I bought the car I was in a jam. They were able to remove the old tune and re-tune the car using opensource and it's been perfect since. If your close you should call up AMS and see what they can do for you as that's your best bet.

I feel your pain and 6 hrs is kinda far but it's worth it to get it done right! Who knows they may recognize your car and fill you in on things you didn't know?

No matter what, you want to get it retuned. Even if it was tuned at some point, you never know if the original owner took a part off, or added parts after the tune. You always want to make sure and know the car is safe. The only way to do that is get a tune yourself.
