Moving on ... but still in an Evo
Well, after a couple FUN filled years with my Evo X MR, I decided to move back to the old Evo. I already miss alot of the creature comforts that the Evo X had, especially being a loaded MR, but I just couldn't bring myself to destroy such a nice car, and make it a dedicated track ****. So, I was able to move back to the old Evo 8 MR. I had forgotten how much I loved raking through the gears, and the raw feel of the older model. However, after driving both back to back, I can see the refinements the Evo X had.
Posted a pic below of the old and new car ... TONS of work for the new MR, boxes already arriving .. calling AMS Monday for new power mods and maybe a RR build.

You made a good decision. Fully loaded MR is not the right starting point for a track toy. Good luck with your 8 build. Amazing how fun (and competitive) 8 year old econoboxes can still be...

Differences between 8s and 9s are negligible - factor in the fact you can get 8's for super cheap (sometimes a nice one for as low as 10k) and you have extra $ for some performance goodies.
