squeeking during slow down

2008 MR. recently noticed that there's a noise coming from the undercarriage (like brake squeal) when i let off the gas and coast as i'm approaching a red light. i'm not applying any brakes. i recently got a service (oil change, tire rotation) from the dealership. didn't notice the noise until after, but that might just be a coincidence...

Was going to say pads, but mine only does that when applying the brakes. Got a video or a sound clip? A trip to the dealership is always scary.

man, this is driving me nuts...it only happens on occassion...i can't seem to reproduce it at will. and what kills me is i forget to see which gear i'm in everytime this happens! i will have to be on the lookout next time!

would the sst make this kind of noise? i've got 32,000km on it but haven't changed the fluids yet. i DD the car, and only spirited driving once in a while on the road. i don't rack or autox. no mods except cobb stage 1.

I bet it's coming from the brakes. Next time it happens tap on the brakes and see if it goes away.

my brakes squeak a little when I'm not on them too. It's because the pads/rotors are glazed.

quick fix: take off your calipers and take a fine grit sandpaper and lightly sand the pads and rotors a bit. This should get rid of the squeaking problem

mine have squeaked a bit ever since my last track day. Just hasn't annoyed me enough to actually get down and fix it.
