Racing Dash Cam
Anyone have a dash camcorder set up in their evo?
I am going to be tracking my car and wanted to know what others are doing for camera setups.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, cheers!

Lots of people just get a GoPro HD for video. If you want data with the video then entry-level solutions are available for iPhone and Android. Dedicated data logging solutions can run $2k or more.
I'm using Harry's Lap Timer for the iPhone. It's pretty cool.

I use my Android phone (HTC Incredible) with a standard cellphone mount with a hole for the camera. I then use the TrackMaster app ($10) to record my GPS, g-forces, speed, etc. The end result looks like this:

The quality could be better, but I suck at this AVS crap

It does. The complete setup that I use includes a TomTom GPS cradle and the Kiwi WiFi for ECU data. The gps built into the iPhone doesn't update quickly enough so you would have wanted external gps anyway. Getting your speed (and other info) from the ECU also updates much quicker than gps-based speed.

I'm using a vado HD with a sticky pod mount for the outside and a simple hole drilled in a harness bar for the mount on the inside
for data I use Track Master android app with an external 10/5hz gps receiver
end result looks like this

I took out the skid pad thing cause i didn't really think it was very accurate,
my room mate has an atrix and he is able to data log and take video at the same time with his phone mount.

i do rally, so we not going in circles, there for most of the camera you can by is too much money for what you need there. You literally never see the same corner twice. So the options like lap timer - and such is not worthy for us. Also the reception and the constant travel to stage to stage makes it unusable.
For us the best solution and money is a gopro for us. You can buy a $1K set with RPM and such , but i rather used that money for tires
I say go-pro!
