How high can I safely raise the stock Recaro's?

Going from an Evo 8 to an Evo X, I completely understand where the OP is coming from.
I'm 6'1", i have a shorter torso, and feel like I can't really see much of the front of the car. I understand the lower center of gravity, etc, but I almost would like another inch higher to see a bit more.
I've made adjustments, put the back of the seat almost vertical, don't slouch, basically in attack position the whole time I drive the car. It definitely wears me out, but I feel I can see a bit better.

I'm also 5'6" and I HATED the X's recaros every single day... that was the main thing i missed about my VIII.... loved those recaro's and felt the fitment / vizabillity was perfect. Just because one person thinks the view / seating position is great does not mean anyone or everyone else will.
I had the HKS seat rails and they did not do what I wanted / needed them to do... waste of money imo.... sold mine to someone here on the forums after I sold the car...
OP, I think your best bet is going to be to have the seat custom fitted.. should also be the cleanest and least expensive option too. Most aftermarket seats and rails are designed to lower your seating position not raise it.

I understand where the OP is coming from, I like to see the entire hood of the car. It helps me calculate the width of the car quicker, useful when you got a bunch of people double parked in NY. I'm 5'10" and although I can see fine I wouldn't mind an extra inch of height on the seat just to see the entire hood, this inch is not going to make any difference in the way the car handles.

I am 6' and I would like to also raise my seat because of my left knee. In the original position when I step on the clutch my left leg is almost parallel to the floor and after a few minutes of driving my left knee is in pain. I will see if I can modify the seat brackets to give it some height.

Seems like you guys just need lifter kits if all you need is an inch or two.

I am 5' 8" and hate the driving position. I feel like I am sitting in a bathtub trying to look up. I was thinking about the HKS seat rails that raise the seat, but I see from Mad SB's comments that this might be a waste of time. I also wish that we had a telescoping steering wheel as well. My Civic Si had a much better driving position than the Evo does.

I did this for my wife, shes 5'-2", raised the drivers seat 1/2" using 1/2" thick nuts with a little bigger holes.
Retained my stock bolts, seat is like factory tight!
I did one at a time not all at once! Easy to do too!!
Or you can just raise the rear only for a little tilt?
Correct way is to get new metal plate, getto way ftw!
