CBRD Heat Shield for Intake

I purchased a 33rb turbo kit from Chad at CBRD earlier this spring. Anyways... I noticed the usual heat of the summer contributing to super high intake air temps, as well as unstable idle. So I got in touch with Chad to see if there was anything we could do... he suggested going with a CAI but without a GSR in the shop he wasn't able to fabricate one for me. However he did have an MR in the shop that he was able to use for a template for a heat shield so here are the results.

Before

Install... Super easy btw... fit perfectly around my 3.5inch velocity stack intake. There is also a bracket on the bottom side to support it.

After

The last picture really shows how big the shield is, placed perfectly to deflect the bulk of the hot radiator air. Thanks again Chad for not only helping me before the sale... but the service after the sale has been what I value the most.

Yea... I doubt it would work if you have it set up like it comes from the factory. Not sure though.

I will get something built to offer as an option!

Cheers

Man, the engine bay looks sweet! Too bad the owner of the car is a total D-bag.

That turbo kit is soooo sick! That's the same kit I'm going to be purchasing later this year from CBRD. They're close enough to me to do the install and tune

I'm jealous! I wish I was closer! Maybe one day I can get it up there.

Thanks again everyone-

we are doing the MR right now with the kit on it- waiting to get a radiator built-

using our smaller 30RB than chris' 33RB-

should be a 4 door GTR
