I just talked to the guy who ran that car in SCCA auto x this summer (joey doesn't really race much). He said it runs fine, has no issues, hasn't been beat on, and Joey is a straight shooter. It has been built to the teeth but he doesn't race it. Overall it is in perfect condition, professionally maintained and in perfect order.

Looks like a nice ride, hope it works out for you.

wait, you might be right, there is another car in Boise, Idaho that is a virtual clone of that one, both built by Cobb, both tuned by Cobb, same CF, lip, everything, both trying to get 40k and both for sale LOL. Both got that beard trimmer look.

Makes sense tho, cuz Joey is a straight up dude, and wouldn't leave his car up on auction if he got a deposit, that guy is probably trying to work a bunch of deals with different people, then take the auction down. Weird that he doesn't give a location.

Buying a modded car is fine but that car is a bit much. The hardest part about buying a used car is finding a honest seller. I am trying to sell my car now and I always try to be as honest as possible with potential buyers.

No, it is a different car. I have talked to cobb tuning in Portland and it is getting a new turbo. The owner has also sent me the receipts for everything on the car. I know it's not a scam (at least not 100% scam) I just want to make sure the car hasn't been run into the wall or anything.

I would also like to add that this will be my DD. What do you guys think about DD reliability?

I am glad you are confident, I would be freaking out. And it is still listed on ebay, so even if he is not scamming you, he is certainly lazy.

i think you said this is your first turbo car, right? My only concern is not knowing when the car is misbehaving, or something simple needs fixed and you didn't recognize the symptoms and it gets worse and winds up costing you thousands

Yes, this will be my first turbo car, other than my 6.4 ford. Which really doesn't count. That is what I'm afraid of as well, I don't want to be having to spend a couple of thousand in repairs every few months.

I think turbos generally need only negligibly more maintenance than NA cars. Just get adjusted to what normal is ASAP -- drive it hard and drive it gently, drive it in hot conditions and cold, then you'll know what "normal" is in any condition in case it changes down the road.

You're in for a nightmare if this will be your DD. I wouldn't even consider it if it was me.
