wow noone is creative, I'd like to see something more modern and spiffy looking. Say when you hit the shift point all the white LED's on the RPM cluster turn red. so you go from white and red numbers, to all turning Red. aka SHIFT

2012 is the last year model for the Evo X's i think they are going to add something a little more special than a freaking shift light.. i would want them to upgrade the exhaust or add some gauges or something like that. The shift light is cool but i think there is going to be more than just that...

Yeah the '11 exhaust is louder than I was expecting for a stock exhaust that has to meet mass appeal. At this point I bet they've put most of their resources on the next generation, not improving the X.

My brother has a 1998 Chevy S-10 that has a shift light lol. Why? I have no idea. It is pretty simple to feel and hear when to shift but I guess it would be cool if the new evo got one also. But only if its not ugly or a distraction to see when driving.

I read in DSport that the shift light(GSR) and eco monitor(MR) are the ONLY changes for 2012. Also was "told" by a reputable mitsu shop that for the 2013 models, the supposed "hybrid" that there will be the option for a standard 6 speed transmission. I'm not sure if there is any truth to this. However I will say from personal opinion that it does make sense. Mitsu has grown tired of sticking to their "gentlemans agreement" to keep up the rally heritage (5 speed, AWD, 2 liters, and 300 HP). They realize now that if they want to keep up with the market they're going to have to do some re-structuring on top of the fact that they are trying to catch up on the whole gas mileage situation. So I have a feeling that the 2013 model will probably be completely different from what we interpret as a real evo. People are probably going to have the same reaction they had when mitsu came out with the X. Everyone said the IX was the last "real" evo. people are probably going to say the same thing about the XI if mitsu decides to actually procede with production.
