I didn't make the claim that I was right - I said it was just a thought.

I'm pretty sure that North America Mitsubishi has already said that there will be a 2012 and 2013 Evo x.

Also, just a few days ago Mitsubishi president announced the Evo XI will be a hybrid Evo and will be on sale in the next 3 years or so. So we might actually have a X for a little longer then North America Mitsu stated. But only time will tell.

This sounds very similar to Toyota's feature on the 2012s.
"This advanced technology automatically cuts engine power and allows the brakes to take precedence over the accelerator when both pedals are pressed at the same time.

Smart Stop Technology intervenes when the accelerator is depressed first (Figure 1) and the brakes are applied firmly for longer than one-half second at speeds greater than eight kilometres per hour. (Figure 2)

In normal driving conditions, you won't notice Smart Stop Technology as it is imperceptible. The feature doesn't engage if the brake pedal is depressed before the accelerator pedal. This allows for vehicles starting on a steep hill to safety accelerate without rolling backward (known as hill start)."

As the other thread suggests maybe this is Toyota's answer for the recall mishap lol

How do you heel-toe downshift with this technology that doesn't allow a throttle blip while on the brakes?
